New Kit, New Season, New Possibilities
The start of a new season always feels special, but this one means even more. After months of uncertainty, trialing, and grinding through the offseason, I finally know where I stand — I’ve made the club. This Saturday, the season officially kicks off, and with it comes the chance to show everything I’ve been working for.
It also marks another milestone: exactly one year since my family and I moved from Canada to Portugal to chase this dream. That journey has been full of challenges — waiting on visas, not knowing if or when I’d get to play, and proving myself in every training session. But all of it has led to this moment.
The offseason was long and stressful. Trialing with clubs, not knowing where I’d end up, and pushing through sessions where every touch and decision mattered was draining. But all that work paid off — I’ve signed with a club, I know who I’ll be playing with, and I can finally focus on football again.
And the timing couldn’t be more perfect. A year later, I’m part of a team that believes in me, with teammates who care about each other and a coach who pushes us hard every single day.
That doesn’t mean anything is guaranteed. I know I’ll have to earn every minute on the pitch, and that starts in training. But it feels different going into this season — there’s stability, there’s belief, and there’s a real opportunity to grow.
The road hasn’t been easy, but that’s what makes this moment even more exciting. A new season brings new possibilities, and I can’t wait to get started.
For anyone following a similar path — whether you’re a player chasing your dream or a parent supporting from the sidelines — remember this: nothing in football is guaranteed. Trials, transfers, injuries, waiting periods — they can test your patience and belief. But if you stay committed, keep working, and surround yourself with people who push you to grow, the opportunities will come.
This season is proof of that.
